Shearer (cutter) motors are specifically designed for the customers individual requirements and made very compact in order to be fitted directly into the ranging arm. The machines are of fabricated steel and of a very robust construction in order to maintain mechanical strength. Currently available are motors covering outputs up to 2000kW on a low or high voltage installation.
